Dan Rice is a dedicated project and property manager overseeing green energy installations and over a million square feet of commercial space, where he ensures efficient operations, tenant satisfaction, and responsible budgeting. With a results-driven approach, he brings practical experience in maintenance, planning, and sustainable growth—skills that directly align with the needs of Glens Falls.
With a master’s degree and a diverse professional background, Dan has developed strong problem-solving and leadership abilities that have served him well across multiple sectors.
Before moving into property and project management, Dan was an educator, working with special needs children and in elementary classrooms. This experience gave him firsthand insight into the challenges students, families, and teachers face, reinforcing his commitment to strong schools and supportive communities.
As a former member and chairman of the Glens Falls Zoning Board of Appeals, Dan has helped guide responsible development that respects the city's character. He also served on the board of the World Awareness Children's Museum, promoting global education and cultural enrichment for local youth. His roles as treasurer of the Kensington Road Elementary PTA and co-treasurer of the Glens Falls After-Prom Committee reflect his deep commitment to youth, education, and fiscal responsibility.
An outdoor enthusiast and former marathon runner, Dan spent 25 years as a rafting guide on the Upper Hudson River, fostering teamwork and resilience and garnering a deep understanding of the north country's tourism economy. He has also been an active volunteer, previously working with the Open-Door Mission’s backpack program to provide food for underprivileged schoolchildren, ensuring no child in the community goes hungry.
Dan is proud to call Glens Falls home and has a deep love for its residents, history, and the unique character that makes it special. Originally moving to the area in 1997, he has watched Glens Falls blossom into the vibrant, thriving city it is today. He appreciates all that makes Glens Falls great—its tight-knit neighborhoods, lively events, incredible restaurants, houses of worship, and bustling downtown. He is committed to ensuring that the city continues on this path of progress, sustainability, and smart development while preserving its charm and community spirit.
Having lived in multiple states across our diverse and beautiful country before settling in northern New York to raise his family, Dan brings a broad perspective while maintaining deep roots in Glens Falls, where he owns a home with his spouse, an occupational therapist, and their two amazing and talented daughters, both of whom are students on the high honor roll at Glens Falls High School.
